Elana Carson- Introduction

Hello! My name is Elana Carson. I am a young 18 year old who just graduated from LCA(Lighthouse Christian Academy) last spring. I have a HUGE passion for missions, domestic and foreign. I will be interning at Realife Student Ministries this fall as well as working at the historic Landers Theatre in downtown Springfield and coming to school here at OTC. Let's just say my schedule is PACKED! At the theatre, I work in the box office as assistant manager as well as teaching Elementary and Junior High hip-hop classes! I love to dance. This past summer I spent 6 weeks in China on a missions trip doing an "English and Language cultural exchange". It was amazing! I got to help the students with their english as well as dancing for them and learning a bit of chinese myself. Something that was incredibly interesting that I learned about the chinese students was that, they go to school around 12 hours a day. However, they do not test nearly as well as american students. It was extrememly interesting to see how their lives are completley overtaken by school, but the fact that it is so overbearing ends up causing a reverse affect. Before China, I went to California for Speech and Debate nationals! I was in the top 30 in 5 different events. It was a blast! I also went to a summer camp, a camping trip and even have managed to have a few days of "Chill" time before school started back up! I am excited to be here in this class! After OTC, I plan on attending Evangel University and double majoring in Biblical Studies and Marketing/Advertisment! I am a VERY determined young student and am excited to see how God uses me to change the world.

I can't wait to meet all of you!

Elana Carson

Great to see someone with such motivation and faith in God doing such awesome stuff! I'd always been afraid to go out on those trips and never felt I had what it took to do them, but I think it's great that you have that calling! Glad to have ya!

ok, i know this has nothing to do with your post...but i have a question. In your picture, the one where you are doing a hand/upper body stand, was this a pose, or did you tell whoever was taking the picture that you were going to do a face dive into the ground, and for them to take the picture at the last possible second? Anyways, great stuff, Evangel is a great school.

Sounds like you're a very busy girl. I am the same way, it's the only way to be. Glad to see somebody with some drive and direction. Last 6months or so I've been struggling with Christ and it hasn't been easy. Well nice meeting you, I would love to learn more.

Jacob- To answer your question: This is just a common stall! I actually had to hold it for a LONG time so that the photographer could get plenty of angles! :) I was incredibly sore afterwards!
